Do I need to get a new license file and activate that or do I need to use my current license file?
We have shared license but the documentation for installation mentioned the below:
To transfer the installed licenses
Start Neotys License Server in a older version of Neotys License Server 3.0.
Ask all users to release their licenses.
Select the corresponding row for each license, and click Transfer key.
Follow the transfer wizard. Note the path of generated files (license-inactivation.req) and send the files by email to firstname.lastname@example.org. For more information, see Transferring a License Key.
Stop the old version of Neotys License Server.
Uninstall the old version of Neotys License Server.
Since we are always in the midst of load testing several apps how can I do this with least impact?
When you upgrade from NLS 2.0.xx to 3.0.xx, it's not necessary to deactivate your licenses.
Basically, you can uninstall NLS 2.0.xx and install NLS 3.0.xx. You should retrieve your licenses.
I would only recommend you to make sure that none of the licenses are still leased by any NeoLoad.
That should minimize the upgrade process time.
Since you have NLS 2.0.xx, i guess you currently only have 4.0 licenses loaded. So when i said "retrieve", i meant that after installing NLS 3.0.xx, you will still see your 4.0 licenses still activated.
Then it's up to you to get the 4.1 licenses from your customer area and load them in NLS 3.0.xx.
